Matheran's cliffs with incredible heights create breath-taking points. There are about 30 famous hill points here.
To cover most of these points will require atleast a one night stay in matheran. You may either take a horse and the horse-master will guide you to some famous points or you may take the MatheranMap and help yourself.
There are plenty of sign boards which will direct you to each and every point you want to outreach. Below are some most visited famous points here :
King George Point :
This point is a must visit point during the rains to see the waterfall formed by the waters of the Charlotte Lake. The water from the fall is pushed back upwards is a delight to watch and feel.
Paymaster Park:
This point is located at the midst of matheran. This park offers a quiet environment and games for children. One may take a nap here and proceed towards the sunset point from here.
Charlotte Lake :
This beautiful and clean lake located atop matheran is the source of water for the entire Matheran. There is also a temple near this lake.
Porcupine Point :
Porcupine point also known as the "Sunset point" is the best hill point in Matheran. The cliff located at this point offers you a breath taking view of the valley. While the sun sets you may enjoy a cup of tea and watch the color changing almighty sun disappear behind the mountains here.
Louisa Point :
This point offers a head-on view of the waterfall seen from the King George Point.
Panorama point :
Panorama points gives you a pleasing panoramic view of the sahyadri mountain ranges. Chouk point :
This point is very far from Bazaar. It the located at the southern most point at the outskirts of Matheran. The view of valley here is truly mesmerizing.
Echo point :
You may find people screaming at the mountain cliffs here to enjoy sound reflected back by the mountains.
